What We Believe

We follow Jesus Christ. We teach from the Bible. We worship God as the Creator of all things and Ruler of the universe. Through our relationship with Christ, we are loved, healed, forgiven, redeemed, renewed, and transformed. As a reflection of Christ, we love unconditionally and serve generously! As a response to Christ, we worship continually.

It’s our passion to share this faith and hope in Finley and with the whole world!

About the Bible:

We believe the Bible is God’s Word to us and that it is inspired and alive. We accept the scriptures as the final authority in all matters of faith and conduct. It is compared to bread in multiple passages and is necessary to our daily lives. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; Hebrews 4:12; 1 Peter 1:23-25; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

About God:

We believe in the one eternal and invisible God who is the Creator of Heaven and Earth, and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself as Father in creation, Son in redemption and Holy Spirit in regeneration. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Galatians 3:20; Ephesians 4:4-6; Colossians 2:9; 1 Timothy 3:16)

About Jesus Christ:

We believe that God came to us manifested in the flesh as Jesus Christ, born of a virgin. We believe that Jesus lived a sinless life, was crucified on a cross for our sins, and rose to life from the grave. We believe that He has been exalted to the throne of God where He is the only Mediator between God and man. We believe that through His death, burial, and resurrection we have personal salvation and power for victorious living. (Matthew 1:23; Matthew 26:28; Romans 6:5-9; John 1:1-14; 1 Timothy 2:5; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:15)

About The Gospel

We believe the gospel is the good news that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and rose again. We obey the gospel by repentance (death to sin), water baptism in the name of Jesus Christ (burial), and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit (resurrection). (Acts 2:4, 37-39; Romans 6:3-4; 1 Corinthians 15:1-4; 2 Thessalonians 1:8; 1 Peter 4:17)

About Christian Living:

We believe as Christians, we are to reflect Christ in the way that we love and serve both God and others. We should live a holy life inwardly and outwardly, and worship God continually. We believe that the supernatural gifts of the Spirit, including healing, continue in operation in the church today. (Mark 12:28-31; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 1 Corinthians 12:8-10; 2 Corinthians 7:1; Hebrews 12:14)

About The Future and Eternity

We believe Jesus Christ is coming again to rapture His church, after which will be the final judgment. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally present with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally present with God is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are real places of eternal existence. (John 3:14-17; Romans 6:23; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:11, 15)
